Entry: Seismic bulletin

URI: https://terra-vocabulary.org/ncl/DataTerraRepositoryFairIncubator/motsClefs/c_7b2984e4

A compilation or listing of parametric seismic data from different stations (mainly phase arrival times, amplitudes and periods of waves) associated with specific seismic events. When enough and consistent data are available, event locations and magnitudes are also computed and listed. The most complete global seismic bulletin for 1964 to the present is the “Bulletin of the International Seismological Centre (ISC)”. Between 1913 and 1964 the most relevant global bulletins are those of the International Seismological Summary (ISS) and the Bureau Central International de Seismologie (BCIS).

en Compilation of earthquake parameters. For each earthquake, the bulletin contains, in addition to the basic parameters (origin time, latitude, longitude, depth, one or more magnitude(s) and associated uncertainties), all the parametric data from different stations having recorded the event (mainly phase names, phase arrival times, and sometimes amplitudes and periods of waves). The bulletin can contain several origins for each earthquake. This is called a multi-origin bulletin.
